This little polar bear was one of three cubs born at the Toronto Zoo last year. Sadly, their mother rejected all of them at birth.

One cub died shortly after being born. The two surviving bears were rescued by zoo staff and taken into their caring. Tragically, a day later another cub died as well leaving this little cub alone in the world.

The little guy weighed only 700 grams, and so he was placed into an incubator in the Intensive Care Unit of the Toronto Zoo's Wildlife Health Centre where he was monitored 24/7.

Polar bear cubs are born with their eyes and ears tightly closed. When he was about 30 days old, the cub opened his eyes and ears and he began responding to his surroundings. Ten days later, he started to teethe.

Now, at 3 ½ months old, the cub weighs 17kg and is actively walking around. He has been moved from the Wildlife Health Centre to his new home – an outdoor den in the Zoo's polar bear exhibit – where he can be visited.

He has all the love in the world, but he still needs a name. Got any suggestions? Simply visit the Toronto Zoo website or Facebook page to submit your best name between now and March 31st.
